System for separating plasma from blood

The system comprises a collector container (2) for receiving whole blood (41). A filtering device (1) is provided for extracting plasma and having input side attachable to the collector container. A conveying unit is provided with a vacuum generating pump (9) for creating a partial vacuum. The conveying unit is part of an analyzer. The filtering device together with the attached collector container is docked onto a sample input part (8). A control device controls the flow rate of the vacuum generating pump to set the highest permissible partial vacuum in the filtering device. An independent claim is included for a method for separating of plasma from whole blood.
