An apparatus (100) for controlling valve displacement of an internal combustion engine comprises a rocker arm (110) having a first arm portion (111) and a second arm portion (113), said rocker arm (110) being pivotable about a pivot (115) interposed between said first and second arm portions (111, 113). The apparatus further comprises an actuation arrangement (120) adapted to actuate said first arm portion (112) of said rocker arm (110) and a valve arrangement (180) adapted to be actuated by said second arm portion (113) of said rocker arm (110). A damper arrangement (130) is connected to said first arm portion (111) and adapted for damping movement of said rocker arm (110) around said pivot (115).
