<p>A Radiator health monitoring system uses thermistors, thermal diodes or other thermal sensors mounted around a radiator to take specific localised temperature readings. A microcontroller or analogue equivalent will then use the localised temperature readings to create a profile of the radiator, including temperature differentials across discrete areas of the radiator. The temperature differentials can then be used to determine whether the radiator needs to be bled or flushed. The need for this would be output on a display mounted on the radiator, or provided aurally. Further, each display unit would also show the temperature drop between the in-flow and out-flow points of the radiator; this can be used to compare all radiators in the system (when the inflow is opened fully) to determine system balance.</p> |
