A device located within a beehive comprising a framework from which several scrapers 6, spikes 7 and taut flexible blades (8, fig 2) protrude. The blades, spikes and scrapers are utilized by honey bees to dislodge Varroa mites and other parasites from their bodies. The spikes are used to impale mites before removal. Once removed the mites fall past the framework through the permeable floor of the beehive. The frame work may be filled with a substance such as fondant sugar in order to encourage the bees to visit. |
