Provided is a method of manufacturing a stator of a rotating electrical machine that is equipped with: distributed-winding cassette coils, each of which has a straight-angled conductor wire wound around; and a stator core comprising slots into which the cassette coils are to be inserted. The method of manufacturing a stator of a rotating electrical machine comprises: an assembled-coil assembling process for assembling a plurality of adjacent in-phase cassette coils to form a set of assembled coils; an insulation paper winding-around process for winding insulation papers cut to be a prescribed shape around the outer circumference of proximity sections where cassette coils of an assembled coil comes in proximity with each other; an insulation paper anchoring process for anchoring end sections of the wound-around insulation papers; and a slot inserting process for superimposing the assembled coils, which are bound together by having the end sections of the insulation papers thereof anchored, upon the stator core in the circumferential direction thereof, and inserting the assembled coils into the slots.
