<p>According to a method for obtaining a maximum possible magnetic flux in a permanent magnet synchronous motor and a magnetic flux controller which performs the same, a second command voltage corresponding to an output voltage to be outputted from an inverter is produced based on an on/off duty ratio of a control pulse signal for controlling the output voltage of the inverter which drives the permanent magnet synchronous motor; a maximum command voltage error is obtained by comparing the second command voltage with a first command voltage which is inputted from a current controller for controlling a current to be applied to the permanent magnet synchronous motor; and a maximum possible command magnetic flux in the permanent magnet synchronous motor according to the position of a rotor of the permanent magnet synchronous motor is obtained based on the maximum command voltage error.
