PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To bring a thread into contact with an inner side surface of an end plate of a bobbin member and to prepare for winding the thread from an end in the axial direction of a bobbin by simple and inexpensive control. SOLUTION: A winding device for a thread includes a thread delivery position controller controlling a thread delivery port of a pulley (thread delivery tool) 8 to be positioned on the side of an end plate 101c of a spool (first bobbin member) 101 relative to the inner side surface of an end plate 103b of a spool (second bobbin member) 103, a pin member (first thread biasing system) 45 abutting on and pushingly biasing a tensed fishing line (thread) L until the abutment part is positioned on the bobbin 103a side of the inner side surface of the end plate 103b, a lever member (second thread biasing system) 55 biasing the pushed out fishing line L to the direction approaching an axis of the bobbin 103a and pressing the biased fishing line L to peripheral end surfaces of the end plates 101c, 103b, and a thread winding preparation controller making the fishing line L engage thread engaging grooves 101e, 103d, releasing the bias against the fishing line L, and making the fishing line L biasingly contact the inner side surface of the end plate 103b.
