PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phosphate ester compound excellent in both of adhesion and adhesion durability. SOLUTION: This phosphate ester is a compound (A) expressed by general formula (1) [wherein, R<SP>1</SP>to R<SP>3</SP>are each independently H or a 1-20C hydrocarbon group; R<SP>4</SP>is a 1-20C organic group which may have a substituent; R<SP>5</SP>is a 3-20C hydrocarbon group which may have a substituent; R<SP>6</SP>, R<SP>7</SP>are each independently H, a 1-20C hydrocarbon group or a metal atom; A is one kind selected from the group consisting of -COO-, -CONH-, -OCO-, -O-, -S-, -CH<SB>2</SB>O-, -CH<SB>2</SB>S-, -C<SB>6</SB>H<SB>4</SB>O-; -C<SB>6</SB>H<SB>4</SB>CONH-, -C<SB>6</SB>H<SB>4</SB>NHCO-, -C<SB>6</SB>H<SB>4</SB>COO- and the like; X is O or -NR- (wherein, R is H or a 1-20C hydrocarbon group); Y is O or S; and (m) is an integer of 2 to 6].
