A joint 2 comprises a seal 3, preferably rubber, for joining at least two pipes 10, 12 with an axial overlap A and securing means, suitably a metallic spring clamp 8, for compressing seal 3. Seal 3 has an inner recess 4 receiving a first pipe 10 and an outer recess 5 overlapping inner recess 4 receiving a second pipe 12; preferably, inner recess 4 is a bore extending through seal 3 and outer recess 5 is a blind pocket. Pipes 10, 12 may be plastic or metal. Securing means 8 may be on a radially outer surface 13 of seal 3. Seal 3 may have a protrusion 6 axially blocking securing means 8 and a further protrusion 7 axially blocking securing means 8. Joint 2 may form part of a fluid joint assembly 1 forming part of an exhaust gas line of a motor vehicle. |
