<p>A floor tool 8, suitable for a vacuum cleaning appliance (2, Fig 1) with a suction nozzle assembly 26 comprising a support member 28 with a carrier plate and a floor engaging pad. The plate and pad are releasably held together by a clamping arrangement that clamps the edges of a cleaning sheet between the carrier plate and the floor engaging pad and thereby secures the cleaning sheet to the pad. Nozzle assembly 26 comprises first /front and second / rear nozzles 30, 32 and a central air manifold 34 on the upper surface of support member 28; with nozzles 30, 32 supportive to the manifold 34 by connecting fluid passage arms 36.
