<p>A transporting means has a multiplicity of separate transporting elements (1), in particular steps or segments of an escalator, of a moving walkway or the like, which are coupled to one another to form a chain. Also present is a drive system in which at least one linear drive (3) subjects the chain of transporting elements (1) to a motive force directly or indirectly in at least one operating direction. In order to reduce the amount of space required for the drive system and to configure the latter for high motive forces, the linear drive has at least one disc (8) which is motor-driven for rotation about a axis (7) and has at least one guide (9), which runs helically in the direction of the periphery of the disc (8) and with which interacts at least one force-transmission element (4), which is connected at least indirectly to the chain of transporting elements (1) and is subjected, by the positive linear guidance brought about by means of the chain of transporting elements (1) during the rotary movement of the disc (8), to a force which acts radially and/or tangentially in relation to the axis (7) of the disc (8), and thus further to a force which acts at least indirectly on the transporting elements (1).</p> |
