<p>A floor tool 8, suitable for a vacuum cleaning appliance (2, Fig 1) with a suction nozzle assembly 26 comprising a support member 28 with a carrier plate and a floor engaging pad. At least one suction nozzle 30, 32 is in fluid communication with a conduit and air manifold 34 on the upper surface of support member 28. An upper connection part 42 is connected to neck 24, having pivotal axis shown by points A and B, and is thereby able to control tool 8 (see Figs 7a and 8a). Neck 28 comprises a first neck portion 46 with rectilinear extension 50 defining opening 52 through which flexible hose 40 extends, and a second neck portion 48 with two parallel forks 54, journaled in extension 50 and able to swing left or right about axis. The arrangement allows for at least one of the suction nozzles 30, 32 to float relative to neck 24.</p> |
