Method for writing and reading data on a block-oriented storage medium

The method involves storing data in logical blocks on a memory medium by a controller. The data is read from the memory medium. A classification feature is associated to one of the blocks by a classification rule. The classification feature is provided with a static component, which is not changed. A confidentiality class is allocated to one of the blocks. Access rights are checked before describing or reading of the blocks. The access rights are specified in the classification rule. A cryptographic action e.g. encryption, specified in the classification rule is carried out.
