A method and apparatus for a web service supporting the movability of a web object are provided. A web server creates movability information for a movable web object in a webpage in order to process the movement of the web object. The web server inserts a link indicative of the movability information into a header of the webpage and transmits the webpage with the link inserted thereinto to a primary device. The primary device obtains the movability information for the web object from the web server using the link.
