The machine has a guide vane ring comprising a row of adjustable guide vanes (1, 2). One of the guide vanes comprises a taper (1c) in a longitudinal direction along a blade, and another guide vane has a taper (2c) in opposite direction. The guide vanes comprise an overlapping area (4c), where the overlapping area has a straight, slanted or curved configuration in an axial direction of the machine. The guide vanes are rotated independent of each other around a longitudinal axis (3), where the overlapping area lies in an area of 30 to 70 percent of a channel height (4). An independent claim is also included for a method for increasing stability of flow in a continuous-flow machine. |
