The present invention relates to a method for opening and closing a sliding cover of a battery mount for a vehicle which makes battery replacement work be done rapidly and easily by opening and closing by sliding the sliding cover of the battery mount installed with a battery on the upper part of the vehicle. In order to achieve the objective of the present invention, the method for opening and closing a sliding door of a battery mount for a vehicle includes the steps of: judging whether an opening/closing signal of the sliding cover is inputted or not; sliding the sliding cover if the opening/closing signal of the sliding cover is inputted; sensing whether the sliding cover is opened or closed; and stopping the sliding cover if the opening and closing of the sliding cover is sensed. The step of sliding the sliding cover slides the sliding cover in an acceleration mode during an initial first period, in a constant velocity mode during a second period, and a deceleration mode during a last third period.
