An electrode assembly is provided to prevent melting and shrinking of the separator and to produce a secondary battery with high safety by employing a separator with high melting strength and tear strength. An electrode assembly comprises a positive electrode equipped with a positive electrode active material layer; a negative electrode equipped with a negative electrode active material layer; and a separator separating the positive electrode and the negative electrode. The separator consists of polypropylene resin including a crystalline ethylene-propylene random copolymer and an elastic ethylene-propylene copolymer. Each content of crystalline ethylene-propylene random copolymer and the elastic ethylene-propylene copolymer is 65-95 weight% and 5-35 weight% based on polypropylene resin 100 weight%. |
