Disclosed are a system for preventing the growth of marine organisms and a method for the same. The system for preventing the growth of marine organisms, according to the present invention includes: a pump for flowing water into a pipe; a driver for providing power to a motor for controlling the rotation velocity of the motor of the pump; a controller which outputs a control signal according to the rotation velocity of the motor; an electric current provision unit which provides electric currents according to the control signal; and first and second electrodes which is supplied with electric currents direct-proportionally to the rotation velocity of the motor, to electrolyze the water flowed in.
