PURPOSE: An activated carbon manufacturing method for removing hydrogen sulfide gas using pitch and chaff is provided to overcome environmental problems by recycling the chaff. CONSTITUTION: An activated carbon manufacturing method for removing hydrogen sulfide gas includes the steps of: washing chaff with water; pre-carbonizing the washed chaff by heating the chaff in inert gas; manufacturing powder by mixing the pre-carbonized chaff and pitch and pulverizing the mixture; manufacturing slurry by precipitating the powder in an alkali aqueous solution; heating the slurry in inert gas; and removing alkali components from the heated slurry by washing the heated slurry with water and drying.
