<p>A fixing device for prefabricated wall panels consists of a sheath inserted in a recess in the panel and provided on the outside with deformation resistant collar so as to immobilise the sheath after pouring the concrete to form the panel, the inside of the sheath being provided with a movable metallic tubular dowel whose inner end is radially expansible by the action of a cone which grips the end of the tube and which is attached to a pin traversing the dowel tube which can be forced inwards by a nut and screw. The device provides tightness of fixing, certainty of action and freedom from corrosion. The anchorage piece for the plastic sheath may be a spring with several turns and radially extending ends to anchor in the concrete. The cone is pref. double, with its ends extending into the dowel tube and into the bottom of the sheath. In placing the sheath in position in the concrete panel it may be provided with end stoppers bearing on the outer face of the mould. Where the panel consists partly of concrete and partly of expanded polystyrene the sheath may be operated without a stopper at its inner end, acting as a core extractor.</p> |
