The present invention relates to a moving link type dust separator and a control method for the same. The moving link type dust separator includes a screen installed on one side of a ditch; a support frame separated from the screen at constant intervals; a transfer unit vertically moving by being installed in the support frame; and a rake driving unit rotating to lift impurities by being installed in the transfer unit. although the screen is installed at a place wherein the ditch is narrow or an inlet for entering the ditch is narrow, the moving link type dust separator can discharge the impurities hung on the screen to the outside of the ditch by vertically moving the transfer unit and lifting the impurities with the rake driving unit after maximally attaching the rake driving unit to the support frame.
