This invention relates to electrostatic precipitators and can be used for removal of solid and liquid particles from flue and industrial gases. It can be used in power generation, cement, metallurgy, coke industries. A two-zone electrostatic precipitator comprises ionization and settling chambers. Corona-forming electrodes of the ionization chamber are formed as strips mounted in the direction of the gas flow with thickness of 0.1- and length of 250-, spaced from each other and from grounded electrodes at a distance of 30-. High voltage applied to the electrodes of ionization chamber has constant and pulse components with microsecond pulse duration. This allows to create electric field strength near the corona-forming electrodes of 10-10V/m and can cause the generation of an electric wind providing high efficiency of the electrostatic precipitator. In the settling chamber the settling electrodes alternate with the corona-forming electrodes. This further improves the efficiency of the electrostatic precipitator. |
