PURPOSE: A vehicle steering device equipped with a variable tie-rod end assembly is provided to enable stable follow-up of turning radius of vehicle wheels by varying the distance between the tie-rod end and the effective arm. CONSTITUTION: A vehicle steering device comprises a gear box(2), an effective arm(4), and a variable tie-rod end assembly(5). The gear box generates a hydraulic holding force by the rotation of a steering wheel(1). The effective arm is secured to vehicle wheels in order to steer the wheels. The tie-rod end assembly moves a rack bar(3) to activate the effective arm. The tie-rod end assembly comprises a hinge roller(7) fixed to a hinge coupling end(6a) of a tie-rod end, an auxiliary link(8) with an opening slot(8b) covering the hinge roller, and a shock absorber(10) which absorbs an impact noise caused when contacting the tie-rod end(6) by the rotation of the auxiliary link. |
