FIELD: physics, nuclear.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and a machine for emptying fuel-element jackets for ceramic fuel. The machine has two rollers (3) for ovalling nuclear fuel jackets (16) in order to grind contents thereof. The opposite inclination of the rollers (3) facilitates automatic movement of the jackets (16). The opening of the end and inclination of jackets facilitates the exit of the ground fuel. The rollers are bi-conical with an input portion with an increasing diameter and an output portion with a decreasing diameter to enable ovalling, which enables to grind the fuel and restore the circular shape of the jacket upon exiting the machine.EFFECT: reduced probability of sticking of pellets or fragments thereof when emptying jackets.9 cl, 5 dwg |
