The method involves electrically connecting two omnidirectional microphones (1, 2) with one another for formation of directional characteristic, where the interconnected microphones emit a signal with directional characteristic (RA). An attenuation signal (D) of upper frequency ranges (RH1, RH2) of microphone signals (R1, R2) emitted by the microphones is determined by comparing the signal with directional characteristic with lower frequency range (RL1) of the microphone signal (R1). The upper frequency range (RH1) is subjected to the determined attenuation signal. An independent claim is also included for a microphone system comprising two omnidirectional microphones.
