Simultaneously, the image obtained in the optical wavelength range is used to determine the position of the shadows. In the case that the anomalies in the radar picture correspond to appropriate shadows on the image obtained in the optical wavelength range, the anomalies are identified as icebergs. After some time, they repeat the procedure and predict the trajectory of the iceberg, for example, by extrapolating its position in a time equal to receive information from the next session. After that, they compare the observed position of the iceberg with the predicted one.
