摘要 PURPOSE: A wireless multimedia sensor network and a data compression and transmission method thereof are provided to extend the life span of a network by evenly consuming energy of each node, which is distributed in a network, through multiple path transmission. CONSTITUTION: A data collection node collects data about nodes which are passed through while multimedia data is transmitted to a base station. The data collection node determines the number of data partitioning which is transmitted via each node according to residual energy of each node which is located on the data transmission path. The data collection node partitions and compresses data using a Chinese remainder theorem based on the number of data partitioning. The data collection node transmits data through multiple paths based on collected node data at a network initialization stage.
