The present invention discloses a battery management system and a battery sensor ID assignment method thereof. The battery management system according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a first communication line; a second communication line; a third communication line; a central control unit which assigns a battery sensor ID through the first and second communication lines; a first battery sensor which is connected to the central control unit through the first communication line and which connects the first and second communication lines when a first battery sensor ID is assigned from the central control unit; and a second battery sensor which is connected to the first battery sensor through the second communication line and connects the third communication line to the second communication line when a second battery sensor ID is assigned from the central control unit. The third communication line is directly connected to the central control unit without passing the second battery sensor. The central control unit communicates with the first battery sensor through the first communication line and communicates with the second battery sensor through the third communication line, after assigning the first and second battery sensor IDs to the first and second battery sensors, respectively.
