The present disclosure provides, as means for improving proton transport under low humidification, means for producing a perfluorosulfonic acid electrolyte membrane having at the surface an array of multiple micropillars. The micropillar structure is created by high-speed plastic deformation of a membrane under the appropriate temperature and pressure using thermal imprinting. This production step induces the orientation of the polymer structure inside the pillars. As a result, orientation of the main chain is controlled and proton transport resistance inside the pillars is reduced by the C-F and C-C bonds that form the polymer inside the pillars. Thus, a fuel cell having the membrane disclosed here is high-performance under low humidification.
|
