PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PPS fiber capable of being produced at a low cost and having excellent production stability without impairing excellent properties such as heat resistance, chemical resistance, flame retardancy and the like possessed by PPS.SOLUTION: The polyphenylene sulfide fiber is obtained by core-sheath composite spinning using a polyphenylene sulfide resin obtained by the flash method as a core component and a polyphenylene sulfide resin obtained by the quench method as a sheath component. A method for manufacturing the polyphenylene sulfide fiber includes core-sheath composite spinning using a polyphenylene sulfide resin obtained by the flash method as a core component and a polyphenylene sulfide resin obtained by the quench method as a sheath component. |
