PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of using a storage area of volatile storage means when starting updated firmware.SOLUTION: A CPU of an image processor downloads (reads) new firmware while old firmware operates, and removes the old firmware on a NAND (NAND type flash memory) after once writing (buffering) the new firmware (S1, S2). Then, the CPU writes (copies) the new firmware written in a RAM in the NAND, and stops the old firmware (process of executing old firmware) after the writing (S3, S4). Then, the CPU starts (executes) the new firmware written in the NAND after removing the new firmware written in the RAM (S5, S6). |
