PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording head capable of improving recording quality and track recording density at a high transfer rate, and a head gimbal assembly and a disk device provided therewith.SOLUTION: A magnetic recording head 58 comprises: a magnetic core forming a closed magnetic circuit by a plurality of magnetic poles 60 and 62; and a recording coil 70 that is disposed so as to be wound around a part of the magnetic core and generates a magnetic field in the magnetic core. The magnetic core includes: a write gap that is a magnetic air gap portion positioned on a disk opposing surface 43 of the magnetic recording head 58 and is formed of a non-magnetic material; at least one magnetic air gap portion 72 that is provided at a position spaced apart from the disk opposing surface 43 and is magnetically decoupled; and the non-magnetic material provided in the magnetic air gap portion 72. The recording coil 70 is wound so as to surround a peripheral portion of the non-magnetic material of the magnetic air gap portion 72 provided at the position spaced apart from the disk opposing surface 43.
