PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control rod drive mechanism that quickly discharges reactor water entering inside a protective cover and can prevent failure of internal components.SOLUTION: A control rod drive mechanism comprises: a control rod drive mechanism housing 9 in which at least a part of a control rod drive mechanism main body 8a driving control rods 5 is accommodated; a spool piece 60 coupled to the control rod drive mechanism housing 9; a motor unit 10 that is mounted to the spool piece 60 via a bracket 23 and provides power for driving the control rods 5; and a protective cover 169 that is mounted to the bracket 23 and is provided so as to cover an outer periphery of the spool piece 60. Opening portions causing a gap between the protective cover 169 and the spool piece 60 and the outside to communicate with each other are formed in the protective cover 169 or the bracket 23, and water entering the gap is discharged therethrough. |
