PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of having a keyboard of a presently accepted French input portable terminal being composed unrelated to the vocal sound structure of French resulting in a great number times of pushing down on keys as well as having a bad human interface.SOLUTION: The number of alphabetic characters that is capable of being inputted is greatly increased by formally allotting all the alphabetic characters to a consonant keyboard and a vowel keyboard in input keyboards of three columns and five rows and automatically alternating the two keyboards according to input. The same content is inputted by the number of pushing down of the keys which is increased by a little less than 13 percent as in a current personal computer by a method for discriminating the alphabetic characters to be inputted by: in addition to five basic vowels, placing ten sets of double vowels with high frequency of appearance in spelling on the vowel keyboard; having a plurality of alphabetic characters having the same pronunciation as indicated by the alphabetic characters or having similar pronunciation placed on some of the keys on the consonant keyboard; lining up these alphabetic characters in order according to the frequency of appearance of the alphabetic characters in a French sentence; and discriminating the alphabetic characters to be inputted according to the number of pushing down of the keys when handling varied vowels on the vowel keyboard. |
