PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium having high reliability.SOLUTION: When a main chain part CFO included in a compound containing Fomblin lubricant and phosphazene ring is (Rf) and a terminal group (CF-CH-O-)(NP)-O-CHCFincluded in a compound containing phosphazene ring is (R), a ratio of the (R) composition to the (Rf) composition of the lubricant layer surface measured using TOF-SIMS is from 0.01 to 0.09(%).
