PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vegetable-based resin pellet that is excellent in processability and can give good external appearance approaching that of natural wood or the like, to provide a method for manufacturing the vegetable-based resin pellet and to provide a molded article of the vegetable-based resin pellet.SOLUTION: The vegetable-based resin pellet includes (1) vegetable powder, (2) a wax-based resin material having a melting point of 40-155°C, at least one kind selected from the group consisting of a lubricant and a dispersant and (3) a base resin having a melting point of 125-350°C. The vegetable powder has a coating layer including the wax-based resin material having a melting point of 40-155°C and at least one kind selected from the group consisting of a lubricant and a dispersant on the surface thereof and the vegetable powder having the coating layer is dispersed in the base resin having a melting point of 125-350°C.
