The present invention relates to an IPv6 packet detection system for detecting IPv6 packets in a detection system which operates in an IPv6 network environment and more specifically, to a system which includes: a threat management system sensor for detecting whether a signature corresponding to a detection rule is included or not by generating a detection rule for detecting IPv6, collecting IPv6 packets transmitted on a network and applying the generated detection rule to the collected IPv6 packets via 'Snort' tool; and a threat management system manager for receiving and displaying a detection result from the threat management system sensor. The threat management system sensor includes an IP signature analysis unit which includes: an IPv6 header analysis unit for analyzing a header of the IPv6; an extension header analysis unit for analyzing an extension header of the IPv6; and an ICMPv6 header analysis unit for analyzing an ICMPv6 header.
