PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing ethanol by efficient means using spouts of woody plants.SOLUTION: In a method of manufacturing ethanol from a lignocellulose raw material, spouts generated from stumps after woody plants are lumbered are used as a lignocellulose raw material. After lumbering of the woody plants, spouts of 1 to 5 years old after germination are used as a raw material. The woody plants are selected from eucalyptus plants and willow plants. A raw material to which pretreatment suitable for saccharification is applied is used. |
