The carrier (1) has inserts (2) made from metal and provided for fastening the carrier to a gear box, where the carrier is designed in a molded manner. Molded fin structures are made from fiber-reinforced plastic, and the carrier is made from continuous fiber-reinforced or quasi-continuous fiber-reinforced plastic material e.g. organic sheet. Bearing lugs (3) are formed in outer end areas (11) of the carrier for accommodating rubber metal bearings (9) and made from metal i.e. aluminum. A reinforcement element made from unidirectional tape-material increases rigidity of the carrier. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a gear box carrier.
