PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent wrong detection of a position that is not actually pressed when three points are pressed simultaneously.SOLUTION: In a touch panel device, m pieces of Y segments Myi are aligned in an X direction, and n pieces of X segments Mxj are aligned in a Y direction. The touch panel device includes control means for controlling energization of m pairs of electrodes and n pairs of electrodes. In the touch panel device, m×n pieces of cells are generated. The control means of a touch panel 25 is caused to execute: a primary area detection procedure and a secondary area detection procedure; an energization detection procedure; a position detection procedure; a contact resistance detection procedure for sequentially detecting a contact resistance Rt of a Y segment and an X segment for each of at least one pressed cell detected by the energization detection procedure; and an energization determination procedure for determining a pressed cell including a contact energization point where a Y segment and an X segment are actually energized, by removing a pressed cell whose corresponding contact resistance Rt is outside a range of a predetermined threshold among the pressed cells where contact resistances Rt are detected. |
