PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily move and adjust a turning roll in any horizontal direction to a base.SOLUTION: A base 10 of a work supporting device 1 for rotatably supporting work on a turning roll 11, has an upper base 15 equipped with the turning roll 11, and a lower base 16 on which the upper base 15 is placed movable in a horizontal direction. A pump unit 23 supplies a working oil into between the upper base 15 and the lower base 16, thereby floating the upper base 15 from the lower base 16. The upper base 15 is moved in the horizontal direction to be positioned. The pump unit 23 is stopped, and the working oil is supplied into between the upper base 15 and the lower base 16 to fix a position in the horizontal direction of the upper base 15 to the lower base 16, thereby positioning the turning roll 11 in the horizontal direction. |
