PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform authentication cooperation among a plurality of information systems adopting different authentication cooperation methods.SOLUTION: A GW (Gateway) unit GU converts both an authentication request message and an authentication response message transferred between information systems S1 to SN into a form interpretable by authentication cooperation methods A to Z adopted by each of the information systems S1 to SN, and transfers the converted message. Also, when a user who has already logged in to the information system S1 tries to log-in to the other information system S2 via the information system S1, the information system S2 compares an authentication level at which the information system S1 has authenticated the user and an authentication level defined by the information system S2 to determine necessity of performing re-authentication. Then, only when it is determined that it is necessary to perform re-authentication, the information system S2 performs authentication processing of the log-in request user.
