The reactants may be liquid or solid and dissolved in separate solvents, with water as a solvent for the water-soluble reactant. The emulsifying agent may be in a concentration of 10 to 40% and the emulsion heated. Examples describe the preparation of sucrose esters, dihydroxy stearic acid, and an acetal of lauryl alcohol and dextrose.</p> |
