A moving image recording apparatus capable of, when recording of a video image to at least one recording medium is stopped in the process of simultaneous recording to a plurality of recording medium, recording a video image to other recording media and capable of preventing relevant video image IDs from being provided to the video images. A setting unit sets same identification information to moving images simultaneously recorded to recording media. When moving image recording to one of two recording media has been stopped but moving image recording to another recording medium is continued in the process of simultaneously recording moving images of same content to the two recording media, a control unit controls the setting unit such that identification information for which the recording has been stopped is differentiated from that for which the recording is continued. |
