A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for sharing one or more identifiers. The method and apparatus may detect a first identifier identifying a communication device, among a plurality of communication devices, in response to at least one communication with the communication device. The method and apparatus may utilize the first identifier to determine a Cell Radio Network Temporary Identifier (CRNTI) of the communication device. The method and apparatus may assign the plurality of communication devices to respective time slots of a System Frame Number cycle to enable the communication devices to share the CRNTI during the respective time slots of the System Frame Number cycle.
