The carrier (1) has a receiving area (10) for receiving a lighter (2). The receiving area comprises a side surface (11) and a contact surface (12) for a seal element, where the contact surface is diagonally arranged to the side surface. The receiving area is provided with a floor area (13), where the floor area and the side surface are convergently or rectangularly arranged to each other. The contact surface connects the side surface and the floor area. The side surface is arranged parallel to the floor area and/or arranged vertically to a longitudinal axis (A) of the receiving area. The seal element is an O-shaped ring. The contact surface is designed as a chamfer. An independent claim is also included for an ignition apparatus.
