PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long arc metal halide lamp in which lamp illuminance is enhanced by increasing the amount of metal gallium in a luminous tube, and a desired uniformity is achieved.SOLUTION: In a long arc metal halide lamp for drying and hardening UV-curable ink, paint or adhesive, a luminous tube is filled with at least mercury, a rare gas, and gallium iodide. The luminous tube has an arc length La in the range of 500≤La≤3000 mm, the ratio Ga(mg/cc)/Hg(mg/cc) of the amount of metal gallium and mercury contained in the gallium iodide is in the range of 3.0E-03≤Ga(mg/cc)/Hg(mg/cc)≤2.5E-02, and the index of emission unevenness of the lamp, i.e., the uniformity, is 70% or more. |
