<p>The inductive proximity switch comprises a transmitter coil (S1), which generates a primary variable magnetic field (5) that covers a monitoring area (20). A receiving coil (E2) is provided for detecting a conductive target (6) in the monitoring area. An electronic unit is connected to the transmitter coil and the receiving coil, which evaluates the magnetic flux change for detection of the target that is caused by the secondary magnetic field (7) reflected from the target. The transmitter coil is a cylindrical coil and the receiving coil is a sheet-shaped coil. The coil surface of the receiving coil runs parallel to the cylindrical surface of the transmitter coil. The receiving coil receives no perceptible magnetic flux of the primary magnetic field.</p> |
