PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which can have a larger open space between a head unit side module and a platen roller side module.SOLUTION: An upper module 1A, including a head unit 2 and a ribbon mechanism 3 which feeds an ink ribbon 31 to the head unit 2, is vertically movably attached to a lower module 1B, including a transfer drive mechanism 5A to transfer a recording paper 4 to the head unit 2, via a separation mechanism 100. A large open space is provided between the upper module 1A and the lower module 1B when the upper module 1A is moved upward in a maintenance or in a recovering from a jam. |
