PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high reliability organic EL display device.SOLUTION: An organic EL display device 1(1a) includes, at least, a substrate 10, a plurality of organic EL elements 16 disposed in a light emission region on the substrate 10, and a protection layer 20 covering the organic EL elements 16. The organic EL elements 16 have a lower electrode 13 arranged on the substrate 10, an organic EL layer 14 and an upper electrode 15 in this order. The protection layer 20 is a laminate of a first protection layer 21 made of a silicon compound and a second protection layer 22 made of an aluminum oxide film formed by an ALD method, both laminated in this order. The region on the substrate 10 where the organic EL layer is formed (light emission region 2, organic EL layer forming region 3) has therein at least one recessed member or projecting member 31 having a taper angle of 90° or greater. The organic EL layer 14 is not formed on sides of the recessed member or projecting member 31. |
